Dragon Kung Fu
Our Style

Kung Fu is one of the oldest fighting arts known to mankind and there are thousands of different styles practiced. Most of them are based on particular animal. Dragon style Kung Fu is no different.

Dragon
Loong (Lung) means 'Dragon' while Mon means 'Fierce'. The mythical dragon has been characterized in the West as a serpent like, winged monster which, according to some religions, including Christianity, represents the power of evil. However in Asian cultures, especially the Chinese, it was believed that the fabulous creature was benevolent, life giving and worthy of reverence, indeed, even worship.

In ancient China, the dragon, as a Yang force, was associated with male fertility. Above all, the dragon represented the fertilizing power of rain. As the continuous pelts of rain may be used for healthy growth, they may also be used to engulf or destroy as in the Dragon style. The Dragon specialty at the time of attack is a combination of Hard and Soft techniques.

Training in Dragon kung fu is similar to the hard, external style of Kung Fu rather than a delicate, reptilian approach. Students learns the techniques of this style by striking hard, blocking hard, and stomping hard into each position, with the idea of learning the proper place to be once movement is complete. Later in the training, the method of transmitting power is retained, and the physically strengthened body is able to make transitions in the proper, fluid manner.

Techniques used in this art are high-speed hand and arm techniques using punches, grabs, palm strikes, arm blocks, and elbow strikes and a variation of kicks
Due to the fact that this style of Kungfu does not depend on a person's size or weight, it is an effective style for all ages, men, women, or children.
